Gaze through the Gateway for the Fairies into the mystical and slightly spooky realm of the dense tangle of moonah trees and you might see a real fairy.
This area is after all known as Fairyland and is home to blue fairies and pink fairies. I can assure you I've seen them!
The blue fairy wren can be spotted flitting between bushes and across the path. The pink fairies are rarer, a tiny orchid 'Caledenia latifolia', they come up in the Spring and are known to exist in Fairyland.
The Angair Wildflower Show is worth a visit over the weekend of 16th & 17th to see a pink fairy close up or for recommendations of other spots around Anglesea to find them.
