to be seeing … the beach, the bush, the cliffs

to be listening .. the waves, the birds, the people

to be smelling … the ocean, the sand, the seaweed

to be sensing … the moon, the tides, the rhythm

to be touching the wind

to be coming to terms with my vulnerability

I grew up in Point Roadnight, not far from here. This is a piece that I improvised in high school. I called it eternal. It began in my imagination on these beaches.

I relisten to this song every few years, each time hearing it differently. It is like returning to a familiar place, to find that it hasn’t changed, but that I have.
